History

The East African Pentecostal Church (EAPC) -Kigumo is a Christian church that was founded in the early 20th century in Kigumo town-Embu by the renowned Evangelist Nicholas Sirawa.

Our roots go as far as the East African Christian Revival, which emphasized personal conversion, repentance, and holiness. The revival which spread throughout East Africa and beyond found its way to Kigumo thanks to the dedicated evangelist Sirawa who had a deep, touching and profound calling from God to minister and evangelize in Kigumo Area and its surroundings leading to one of the greatest numbers ever experienced of people getting born again and following Jesus Christ as their Lord and savior.

The evangelist introduced Mass water baptism amongst other biblical doctrines which we follow to this day with the main aim of emphasizing the teachings of Jesus Crist and role of the Holy Spirit in the life of a Christian.

The East African Pentecostal Church (EAPC) – Kigumo’s humble beginnings and establishment Through the Evangelist Sirawa, attracted a huge congregation from the surrounding area. To date it is the most congregated church in Kigumo. With time, the gospel of Christ has spread and now has sister churches like EAPC-Kanginga, EAPC-Ngiori. and Baptist Church Ngiori.
